This large handmade mug is one of my glaze tests and has a minor glaze fault that does not mean its not propper. It is glazed in a test version of my Stormy Blue glaze but still functional, beautiful and made for people who like a proper mug of tea or coffee. Wheel‑thrown in my Yorkshire studio, with a generous handle added by hand and a small thumbrest on top for extra comfort and stability. The thumbrest gives your thumb a natural place to rest, making the mug feel secure and easy to hold, especially if you prefer a larger handle or have bigger hands. It’s one of those small details that makes a big difference once you’ve tried it.
The mug holds around 400 ml, making it a lovely large stoneware mug for long mornings, slow afternoons or anyone who prefers a big brew. Every piece is made in small batches — no two are ever the same. The slight glaze fault it highlighted in picture 3.
